I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Ex two-time world title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually proceeding.
